Self Care
These are the tasks required for the completion of activities such as school arrival/departure, lunch and snack, and bathroom routines.
Fine Motor Function
Although fine motor coordination is often thought of in terms of handwriting skills, it is also important to consider the other components of motor performance. These include motor planning, bilateral integration, hand control, and visual motor integration.
Sensory-Motor Challenges
This is the process of screening, sorting, and responding to sensory information from the environment. We use this information to organize our behavior and interact in the world. OT’s assess sensory needs as they impact classroom performance, and provide consultative services to suggest strategies for enhanced function.
