The student transportation for Wilmette School District 39 is designed to offer safe, reliable, efficient, and economical service so students can devote their full attention to learning and growing.

How to Register
Bus Registration 2024-25
Please read the District 39 Transportation Handbook and review it with your child. By completing the registration and fee payment, you are indicating that you have read and understand the District’s transportation rules. Please select "One Way (AM)" if you only want bus service TO school and select "One Way (PM)" if you only want bus service home FROM school.
Transportation fees for the 2024-25 school year will be $950 per rider for round-trip and $568 per rider for one-way transportation for registrations received by July 12. Students will receive route information and their bus pass in the mail before school begins in August. Important Information. All students registered by July 12 are guaranteed a spot on the bus. Students who register after the July 12 deadline are not guaranteed a spot due to bus capacity and will be placed on a waiting list. These wait-listed students will be informed of their status in August, before school starts, and, should space be available, will be able to begin riding the bus in early September. Please note that all transportation requests are processed in the order that they are received.
The only way to guarantee a stop near your house is to register before the July 12 deadline.
EXPRESS BUS
The Express Bus continues to be a success and we will continue this service for the 2024-25 school year. The Express bus is a direct bus ride between Central School – HMS, Central School – WJHS, McKenzie – HMS, and McKenzie – WJHS. This service is available for AM, PM or both AM and PM transportation. While the transportation fee is the same for the express bus, the express bus offers many benefits: it is a shorter ride to school, there are more students at the bus stop, it reduces traffic in the neighborhood streets, and in the afternoon, it is the first bus out of the lot. Please note, that if you sign up for the express bus, it is a full-year commitment, and you may not use the neighborhood bus. For more information, please contact Michelle McGregor.
If you would like to sign up for the express bus, please fill out this form after you have paid for your child’s transportation. Please note, just like all transportation requests, this must be completed by July 12.
