District Update – Dec. 19
Save the Date – Registration for the 2026-27 Academic Year
As we approach the end of the calendar year and begin to look ahead, please note that registration for the 2026-27 school year will open on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026! We encourage families to please plan to register their child(ren) as soon as registration links are provided in January. Early registration helps us plan for the correct number of sections and hire the very best teachers around! Look for details about registration in January.
Additionally, the Board of Education was presented with a
draft of the 2026-27 Academic Year calendar and
proposed dates for Winter Break and Spring Break for the 2027-28 academic year at Monday night’s meeting. The Board is expected to approve both items at its January business meeting.
District 39 Angel Fund
The District 39 Angel Fund is accepting donations and your contribution can make a real difference for families in need! The Angel Fund is a donation-based community fund which helps D39 families in financial need cover school and activity fees, including extracurricular activities such as athletics, band/orchestra, and student activities. The fund is supported entirely through contributions of families, residents, and community businesses.
Donations to the Angel Fund can be made online via RevTrak. Contributions of any dollar amount are appreciated and 100% of all donations go towards District 39 families in need. Please visit our Angel Fund webpage for more information.
Board of Education Meeting
The Board of Education gathered on Monday evening for its monthly business meeting. In addition to hearing committee reports, the Board was presented with a
draft of the school calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, The Board also approved
instructional materials fees for the 2026-27 academic year, District 39’s
intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Wilmette, and a
resolution authorizing the issuance of taxable tax anticipation warrants.
