Register Now for LEEP!
Posted on 01/04/2023

Registration is now open for District 39's Lechner Early Education Program (LEEP). Housed at Romona Elementary School, LEEP provides half-day sessions for three-, four-, and five-year-old children that are specifically designed to prepare them for District 39 kindergarten classrooms. With structured play, planned pre-academic instruction, differentiated learning, and vocabulary development, LEEP provides an excellent foundation for all children.

Two hallmarks of the program are the low student/teacher ratio and the teachers themselves. Classrooms are staffed with three adults for a maximum of 14 students. LEEP teachers are exceptionally well-trained and hold degrees in early childhood, speech and language, occupational, and physical therapy. They also participate in ongoing professional development.

The program has a dual purpose of providing a program for children with special needs, as well as providing a high-quality community preschool for typically developing children.

Spots are still open and registration is ongoing until classes are filled. Call Debra Yasutake, Early Childhood Coordinator, at 847-512-6463, or visit the Lechner Early Education Program website to download a registration form and learn more about this exceptional District 39 program.
