District 39 Receives Prestigious Aaa Rating from Moody's Investors Service

Wilmette District 39 has been awarded the highest possible rating, an Aaa, from Moody’s Investors Service as announced yesterday evening. The Aaa bond rating for General Obligation Debt Certificates (GOLT) is at the top of Moody’s rating scale and represents a significant accomplishment for the District. This rating reflects the District’s commitment to financial responsibility, stability and long-term planning.

This rating illustrates the district's ability to repay debt and debt-like obligations without consideration of any pledge, security, or structural features. The Aaa GOLT debt certificate rating is equivalent to the Aaa issuer rating based on the district's pledge of all available funds to pay debt service. The certificates do not benefit from a dedicated pledged property tax levy but are legally binding obligations of the district.

“Receiving the highest possible rating again is a significant achievement for District 39,” said Amy Poehling, President of the District 39 Board of Education. “It represents our long-standing and continued commitment to maintaining a strong financial position. and is also indicative of the strength and stability of our community, including our careful long-term planning, thoughtful budget planning and the academic accomplishments of our D39 students.”
