District Update – Feb. 13
Register Now for the 2025-26 Academic Year
Registration remains open for the 2025-26 academic year. ALL students, including those already attending D39 schools, must register. The
2025-26 academic year calendar is available online. District 39 is excited to offer full-day kindergarten beginning in Fall 2025, and we encourage parents with new kindergarten students to enroll as soon as possible to reserve their spot. Registration for our
Lechner Early Education Program (LEEP) for three- and four-year-old students is also open.
• For returning students, visit the PowerSchool Parent Portal, click on the registration link, and follow the instructions.
• For students new to D39,
visit wilmette39.org/enroll for instructions on the new student registration process.
Report Cards are Now Available
Report cards are now available for all K-8 students through
the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Winter NWEA MAP reports are also available for grades 2-8 students through
the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All students in grades 2-8 take both the reading and mathematics MAP assessments three (3) times per year – fall, winter, and spring. Your child’s winter score serves as a progress update for the current school year to measure growth. Please refer to an email sent to all families on Wednesday, February 5 for additional information with details on how to access report cards and MAP assessments.
Parent Education Events
Thank you to all of our families who joined us yesterday for our Parent Education event titled “All Brains Are Wired for the Library: How School and Public Libraries Are Building Better Spaces for Neurodivergent Kids.”
A recording of this presentation is now available. Please
visit our Parent Education webpage for our full schedule of events as well as archived recordings of past events.
Additionally, the Wilmette Public Library is hosting a family event this Saturday (Feb. 15) titled “Magnificent Minds: A Let’s Learn Together Program” from 10-10:45 am in the Youth Program Room. Led by Speech Language Pathologists from Kick Start Therapy Network in Wilmette, this program is designed for parents and children to learn more about neurodiversity while enjoying story time and collaborative crafts.
Wilmette Park District – Family Survey
Many D39 families enjoy and benefit from Wilmette Park District programming for before- and after-school care. To assist in program planning for the 2025-26 school year, the Park District requests your input through
this short survey for families. This survey will close tomorrow (Feb. 14) and they ask that families complete one survey for each child in their family.
