There are many wonderful places to discover in the state of Illinois. Did you know that Illinois is divided into seven tourism regions?

This year, one of our third grade teachers, Mr. Tom Campbell is retiring. Our class thought it would be fun to find something for him to do during all of his new found free time. So, Mrs. Garcia’s students have created several Illinois tours for him to take.
After gathering information from an interview with Mr. Campbell, our students looked through the Illinois Travel Guide published by the Illinois Bureau of Tourism.

The Bureau divides the state into seven regions, so that future travelers can plan vacations with regional areas in mind. All our personally designed tours include one attraction in each region. The students in our class chose something they felt was unique and interesting.

Even though the tours are tailored for Mr. Campbell’s interests, we are sure you also will find some wonderful new Illinois places to visit. Maybe you will be inspired to create your own tour.

Have fun and don’t forget to write!
