| A brief history of this landmark: | Italians came to Chicago around 1850. They came in a group to Chicago because they knew there were people there to help them translate from Italian to English. The grocery stores in "Little Italy" and back home in Italy were set up the same. They were able to buy the same ingredients here that they could in Italy to make their meals. |
| The importance of this landmark to Chicago is: | People like Italian food and like to learn how they celebrate holidays, what school is like, and what they like about their culture. |
| I think people should visit this landmark because: | Italian food is good! Learning about other cultures can be really fun. |
