Chicago Skyway

About 40,000 vehicles cross over it every day.

Here is the Skyway. Did you know that it is a 7.8 mile long bridge? It crosses the Calumet River.

In middle of the picture is the toll gate. You have to pay $2.50 to get past this part.

A brief history of this landmark:

The Chicago Skyway was built in 1958. It has been open for almost 50 years. It is located in northern Illinois.

The importance of this landmark to Chicago is:  It is important to Chicago because if people want to travel from Chicago to Indiana they do not have to go way off their path.
I think people should visit this landmark because: People can get to other parts of the country on the Skyway. Plus there is a McDonalds' Restaurant.
