A brief history of this landmark/trademark:  Carl Sandburg is important because he wrote poems about Chicago some are called,"City of big Shoulders,"Sky Scraper,"and Telephone pole.
The importance of this landmark/trademark to Chicago is: Carl had many jobs some of them were, a poet, biographer, lecturer, news paper columnist, folk singer, author of american fairy tales, milk boy, barber shoe shine, and painted house.
I think people should visit this landmark because:

Carl's house is now a national historic site I think you should vista it because then you would see his real house.
