Prairie
Perspectives
Before Illinois became a state in 1818, Illinois was covered by
vast prairies. Our class took a field trip out to the Wolf Road
Prairie Preserve to visit one of the last remaining black soil
prairies in Illinois. We also studied our prairie garden behind our
