This is a picture of some of the places the Hopewell Indians went to and what they got there.
Name of
person/event/thing: The Hopewell Indians Date: 1000 B.C. to 500
A.D. Important
facts: The Hopewell Indians were named
after the place where they were first found, in Ohio, on the
property of Captain M.C. Hopewell. Most of the mounds they
built were used for burying important people. The Hopewell
traded with many other tribes. Some of the things they
traded for were shells from the Gulf of Mexico, mica from
the Appalachian Mountains, and bear teeth from the Rocky
Mountains.
I think it changed Illinois
because... Before: All the tribes the Hopewell
didn't settle in one place, because they didn't have enough
food to store. They had to keep moving. These tribes also
did not have time to make exquisite pottery. After: The Hopewell Indians set the
trend for long trade from Illinois to distant states. Even
