The Wilmette Theater is located at 1122 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL.

WHEN IT WAS ESTABLISHED

It was established in 1912.

WHAT THIS PLACE WAS NAMED FOR

It was named for the Village of Wilmette.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In 1949, there was a movie playing called Bad Men of Tombstone. It was a western movie. In 1999, there were movies called Tango and A Walk on the Moon. The Wilmette Theater was built during World War I and was closed for a while after World War II.

There are managers, ushers, cashiers, office people, and candy girls.

OTHER INTERESTING FACTS

The inside of the building has unusual plastering on the ceiling.
It is the oldest movie house on the North Shore.
The owners are dedicated to show quality movies.
