Walking Tour of Chicago: Michigan Avenue - The Gold Coast

Our class took a walking tour of North Michigan Avenue. This area of downtown Chicago began as a residential area called "Pine Street". When the Chicago Michigan Avenue Bridge was built, it connected the southern and northern parts of Michigan Avenue. The quiet residential area became the home of skyscrapers, office buildings, and commercial enterprises.
