Homeroom/Advisory at Wilmette Junior High School

• SCHEDULES
  
  Homeroom/Advisory meets for 10 minutes (8:00 to 8:10) at the beginning of the day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Thursdays, Homeroom/Advisory meets for 37 minutes after first period (8:41 to 9:18).

• WJHS STUDENT RECOGNITION ASSEMBLIES
  
  WJHS hosts quarterly student assemblies to promote character traits that have been highlighted during the quarter. There is a featured speaker at the assemblies, chosen with the highlighted character traits in mind. During the assemblies, students who have been nominated by their teachers for demonstrating exceptional character in the highlighted areas are recognized and honored.
  
  Each quarter there is also a special breakfast to honor the recognized students. In addition to acknowledging the students’ exceptional character, the junior high wants to gain insight into their perceptions about bullying and teasing, the degree to which they feel academically challenged, and ways that we can encourage other students to make good choices.
