jumpingkid Housed within Romona School is the Connecting Kids Preschool Program. The half-day sessions for three, four and five year-old children are specifically designed to prepare children for District 39 kindergarten classrooms. With structured play, planned pre-academic instruction, differentiated learning, and vocabulary development, Connecting Kids provides an excellent foundation for all children.

Two hallmarks of the program are the low student to teacher ratio and the teachers themselves. Classrooms are staffed with 3 adults for up to 14 students. Connecting Kids teachers are exceptionally well trained and hold degrees in early childhood, speech and language, occupational and physical therapy. They also participate in ongoing professional development.

The program has a dual purpose of providing a program for children with specials needs, as well as providing a high-quality community preschool for typically developing children.

Registration for the 2012-2013 school year is ongoing as space is available.

Call Julie Pease, Early Childhood Coordinator, at 847-256-0211 x6463 or visit http://www.wilmette39.org/peds to download a registration form and learn more about this exceptional District 39 program.
