Middle School Residency Requirements

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Starting with the 2009-2010 school year, District 39 began reestablishing residency of students as they enter fifth grade at Highcrest Middle School. This new process is an effort to continue our fiscally responsible actions and mirrors the practice of several neighboring school districts. This is only required for students entering fifth grade next year, Fall of 2009.

In an attempt to make reestablishing residency as efficient as possible, the following guidelines are to be followed. You will need to bring one of the following sets of documents to Higcrest Middle School office:.

  1. If you are buying your home, you will need to bring:
    1. Proof of a mortgage (original mortgage, most recent mortgage bill, tax bill) and
    2. Current utility bill in your name
  2. If you own your home, you will need to bring:
    1. Proof of ownership (tax bill, deed) and
    2. Current utility bill in your name
  3. If your are leasing or renting, you will need to bring:
    1. Your lease or rental agreement and
    2. Current utility bill in your name
  4. If you are living with a relative or friend, you will need to bring:
    1. A new notarized affidavit of residency form dated after April 20, 2009 and
    2. Current utility bill with the primary resident’s name

If you have difficulty providing proof of residency, you must contact me by August 7, 2009. Students will not be placed on a class list or receive school information if residency is not reestablished.

Thank you for your cooperation as we begin this new practice.

Sincerely,

Denise Thrasher
