Special Education During Mandated Closures

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We know that this is a very uncertain and anxiety ridden time for our students, staff and families. As educators, we are committed to providing special education services to our students who require the support to access the core curriculum. Please know that our services will need to be modified to work within the new parameters of remote learning. Students will receive a combination of direct instruction and independent activities with support from special education staff. Students will have access to their case manager and any service provider who has provided services as indicated on his or her IEP. Case managers will reach out to students and/or parents weekly. Services may be pre-recorded, e-mailed, or synchronous. If students are asked to participate in any synchronous group therapy or educational instruction, please see our Notification for e-Learning Synchronous Video. If you do not wish your child to participate, please e-mail your child’s case manager or Kristin Swanson.

Please know that we are committed to supporting our students during these uncertain times. Sincerely,
Kristin Swanson, Ph.D.
