Fourth Grade Independent Research 2006
Self-Selected Topics

Fourth graders who are eager to investigate a topic with which they are particularly fascinated take on independent research at a very complex level. They each are comfortable with the IIM research method are ready to work at an independent level. They are expected to gather answers to their questions and organize their findings with less support and guidance than they have had in previous years. Their research qualifies them as experts in their area of study.

This year the topic choices included (from top to bottom): TheWire-Haired Pointing Griffin,The Pangolin, Volcanoes, The Theories and Biography of Stephen Hawking, The Circulatory System, How the Brain Works, How a Jet Plane Works, Poisionous Plants, Wolves, The Atom, and Emperor Penguins.
