Fourth graders who are eager to investigate a topic with which they are particularly
fascinated take on independent research at a very complex level. They
each are comfortable
with the IIM
research
method are ready to work at an independent level.
They are expected to gather answers to their questions and organize
their findings with less support and guidance than they have had in
previous years. These independent researchers select their own form
of presentation product
to present
to their
fellow
classmates who then ask additional questions about their topic. Their research qualifies them as experts in their area of study.
